Assignments for last 2 weeks of Spring Semester 2014

#1 – You will be writing your Artist Statement for this semester (don’t just copy last semester’s, because I made copies of them, but you should be able to "tweak it" for the new assignments, and explain more about your growth for the year!!!) The directions for the artist’s statement are in STUFF – it’s in the upper right corner of your section blog. It will be due on May 20 at the end of your class. We will have a day or two to work on it in class, but you may need to work outside of class also. Extra credit will be give to those who volunteer to read theirs on Thursday and Friday May 22 and May 23!!

#2 – Final Portfolio - All Spring assignments(including the 1st sem. things not painted until 2nd sem.) must be completed, photographed AGAIN, one paragraph written for EACH one, and uploaded to your blog – I’m giving you 2 weeks of class time, because I think you will need it to do a good job – it will be the homework grade for this 6 weeks, which makes it 20% of your grade. The rubric (grading sheet) for all FINISHED projects is also in STUFF – fill one out for each assignment - these need to be printed out and when you grade yourself, turn it in so I can grade it.

#3 - The exam schedule for 1, 2 and 3 will be Wed. May 28, and Senior Exams are on Tuesday May 27, SOOOO, if your grade and attendance allow you to be exempt from this class, then all of your stuff  - the papers, supplies you’ve borrowed, charcoal, pencils, sharpeners, erasers, cameras, paintbrushes, clay tools, etc, must be turned in, and your drawer must be cleaned out on Friday May 23 (seniors) or Tuesday May 27(everyone else)
No trash or supplies can left in your drawer, in the cabinets, shelves, or big black horizontal file – or you are NOT exempt!

CLAY KIDS - HELP EACH OTHER CLEAN OUT THE CLAY ROOM!!

Reid, your job, besides getting all of your area cleaned and cleaned out, is to take all the MARKED BOXES full of old, icky, dried out clay to the dumpster. Wipe down all shelves on south wall.

Natalie, your job, besides getting all of your area cleaned and cleaned out, is to throw out all the plastic bags - except whats on the recycle tables by the pugmill and help Natasha clean out the shelves. Wipe down all shelves on west wall.

Natasha, your job, besides getting all of your area cleaned and cleaned out,  to throw out all the broken clay things and unpainted little Art 1 stuff. Not the big stuff on the top shelf. Help Natalie wipe down shelves on west wall.

There will be a check sheet for each of you – anything missing will cause you to have to take the test and/or be put on the debt list. The drawer key must be checked in to ME with your sheet – NO keys should be left in the key boxes. You need to have this done before you leave class on May 23 (Seniors) or May 27(everybody else!!) in order to be exempt. I'll check you off the list and this will also be a grade!! J
